After more than 10 years working across the Western Australian Government sector, I’ve had the opportunity to work in administration, executive support, project coordination, information management, business improvement and complex organisational environments.
Over those years, I also saw something that stayed with me: a system can look great on paper, but that doesn't necessarily mean it works well for the people who actually have to use it. Different organisations, industries and people have different needs, and there isn't always a one-size-fits-all solution.
But the reason I created Lumify Design is about more than my career.
Becoming a mum changed the way I thought about work, life and what I wanted for the future. The birth of my son made me realise how important it is to me to be present for him, to have greater flexibility in my life and to build a future that allows me to be there for the moments that matter. I wanted to create something of my own — a business that could draw on the skills and experience I had spent years developing, while giving me the opportunity to create a better balance between being a mum and having a meaningful career.
Lumify Design grew from that desire
Why Lumify Design?
I wanted to build a business that brings together the skills and experience I've developed over my career with a more human, practical and individual approach. Rather than simply applying a process because “that's the way it's always been done”, I believe in taking the time to understand what a business actually needs, how people work within it and where things could be made clearer, simpler or easier.
At this stage, Lumify Design is focused on providing practical virtual business support across administration, project support, document organisation, information management and business coordination. My aim is to be the reliable support behind the scenes — helping take care of the things that can become overwhelming, bringing structure and clarity where it's needed, and giving business owners and organisations more time to focus on what they do best.
As Lumify grows, so will the services I can offer. My longer-term vision is to help businesses not only get things done, but also understand why something isn't working and find practical solutions that are suited to their people, their business and the way they actually work.
Above all, I want Lumify Design to be built on honesty, clarity and genuine understanding. If something isn't the right fit, I'll say so. If there is a simpler way of doing something, I'll look for it. And if a solution needs to be different for your business, that's okay too.
For me, Lumify is about creating something that works for both my clients and my family — a business built around flexibility, purpose and doing work that genuinely helps people.
